Big Idea #1: Sleeping? Make Money!
Mike Mahler recommends creating an information product (ebook, book, DVD, or teleseminar) it becomes a money maker without you working. Mike Mahler says there is no excuse for a fitness professional when it comes to information products.
Information products help create passive income. Passive income means cash is coming in when you're not working. If you post your information product online you become a global seller. Becoming a global seller provides an opportunity to be exposed to new markets.

Digital products allow you to serve your clients in multiple ways. Everyone doesn't want to come to a live event. Everyone doesn't want to watch a DVD. Information products helps you to diversify to the needs of each client.
Remember - High quality information leads to popularity and prosperity!
Big Idea #2: Programs
General consumers don't want to read about high level theories and plans when they buy a health and fitness product. People purchase health and fitness books for a plans and "how to".
When creating an e-book or audio program focus on the "how to" of a program and not on the "why" or "what" too much. For example, creating a six week kettlebell program or advanced training protocol is a great start.
Mike also recommends nutrition based products. Health and fitness consumer love meal plans, new diets, and cutting edge information when it comes to nutrition. Once again, focus on the "how to" and provide practical steps towards the clients results.
Big Idea #3: Marketing
Information products can generate tons of revenues if you provide quality information that leads to results, but your information product success really depends on your marketing to become popular.
Mike Mahler says, "Do not out-source your marketing." Make sure you understand what it takes to sell a product and how to repeatedly sell products.
Mike provides 3 great marketing tips:
- Use an affiliate program to have your fans and customers with blogs and websites help you move product. The more links you have back to your website the better your search engine optimization.
- Write articles that relate to the subject matter of the DVD or information product. Attracts people that are tailor made buyers.
- Do an interview with an expert and get him or her some free exposure. Then ask if you can send a DVD for a review.
