Here are a few of our favorite Big Ideas from Week 1:

Big Idea #1: Shero-ism #1

You make the choice! The essential ground of the foundation that makes a Shero. YOU choose. Choose now.

A Shero DECIDES how she is going to use her life and her time, and she makes peace with that decision! Claim it.

Make a choice right now! How do you want to show up right now?

..as a Shero? (by your own definition)

..as a Victim? (the opposite of a Shero)

Choose right here, right now!  Whatever your choice is to be here, take in a deep breath, and call the energy into your heart & belly- gently exhale, and let go of needing to be anything or anybody other than who you ARE right now.

Big Idea #2: Shero-ism #2

No Shero can be a Shero until she decides for herself that she wants to be a Shero!

What does it mean to be a Shero? A Shero is what a Shero is to you.

The word "Shero" is a way to tap into archetypal energy of greatness and courage! It can give us symbols to nourish our imagination- we need symbols and visual mind for our imagination to do the work we need to do in the world.

It helps us access a story of "why not US?"! What are we waiting for? Are we waiting for Superwoman? What if YOU are the one we have been waiting for!

Ask yourself: If I can access a story, why not me? ..what becomes possible.

Spend a few minutes journaling about what a Shero is to you.

Big Idea #3: What is a calling?

Calling is an exciting word! We are all called multiple times in our lives, and no journey or quest can begin until we are willing to listen to that call. Hear it, see it, feel it..

We can't see, hear, or feel the call if we are exhausted, or depleted, or noisy- which can be the single biggest thing that can get in the way of our Shero's journey.

There must be space to listen to the call... embrace silence.

Ask yourself: The rest and refueling I must have to hear my calling includes?

The Shero's journey doesn't begin when all the "ducks are in a row"- be careful to discern between feeling too exhausted to hear the call, and ignoring and refusing the call.

As for the times you may have ignored and refused the call- NOW is a great time to forgive yourself.

We are all in this together on the Shero's journey, a Shero is never alone- and WE forgive you.

Homework:

Here are a few "desire" journaling questions to explore.

Desire is the fundamental creative force in the universe.

By developing a relationship with our desires, we can learn better how to discern our callings and how to navigate our journeys.

Recommendation: use a timer and write for 2 minutes for each question, and do these all at once without reading ahead but do what feels good to you. The questions are repetitive for a reason. You may revisit them several times.

  • As I take another turn on the spiral of my life, what am I completely, utterly ready to be done with? Start with what you are ready to shed to clear the way.
  • Rooted in self-trust and rest, I am ready to acknowledge what I most want to create includes... Imagine yourself thusly rooted or do so before writing.
  • I am ready to hear that I am called to....
  • What I most want to see different in the world includes….
  • My most chronic complaints include... You may need help so feel free to ask the people you live and work with what do you complain about?
  • The desires I have ignored for so long I don't even let myself want them anymore include...

  • What will be different in the world as a result of my shero's journey is....

Super Important Homework:

What do I want?

Ask this question before choices, in transitions, when you feel lost, sleepy, sad, excited, ungrounded, curious.

What do YOU want?

Book Recommendations:

  1. "From Girl to Goddess" by Valerie Frankel (survey of myths and fairy tales about heroines)
  2. "Buddha's Brain" by Rick Hanson" (highly recommended!)

Feel free to email these questions to private@jenniferlouden.com. Jen might not respond if she gets a large volume but she will read, and treasure each one!
